Surplus Chickens

We use day-old chickens as feed for the owls in our centre (Owl Rescue Centre). Due to a lack of space in terms of freezers, we buy a large amount of live chicks from time to time when we have many owls in our care. When the chicks get too big we can no longer use them as owl food.

Where we can sell our surplus chickens? Any assistance from a farmer will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

People are always looking for chicks for eggs, or for their farms for meat birds. You could list your chickens at a good price on public lists like Craig's list, eBay and the like. You shouldn't have too many problems off loading them if you price them right.
